Meta puts an AI-video feed at the center of its Meta AI app with Vibes

Meta's early-preview Vibes turns the assistant app into a scrollable, remixable feed — a frontend shift from prompt box to social surface.

What Vibes actually ships

Meta announced Vibes on September 25, 2025 as an early preview: a feed of short-form, AI-generated videos placed "at the center of the Meta AI app" and also available on meta.ai.

The described flow is concrete. You browse videos from creators and communities, and the announcement says the feed "will become more personalized over time." If a video catches your eye, you can create your own, remix what you see, or share it.

On the creation side, Meta lists three entry points: start from scratch, work with content you already have, or remix a video from the feed. From there you add visuals, layer in music, and adjust styles.

The interface bet: feed first, prompt second

The notable frontend decision is what Meta chose to show first. Most consumer generative tools open on a blank text box that asks the user to know what they want. Vibes opens on a feed of finished examples instead.

Meta is explicit that this is the point: Vibes is "designed to make it easier to find creative inspiration and experiment with Meta AI's media tools." The feed doubles as onboarding — every scrollable item is both content and a template you can remix.

That reframes the hardest problem in generative UX. Rather than teaching users to prompt, the remix affordance lets them start from an existing result and modify it. The empty-canvas problem gets replaced by an edit-this-one problem.

The distribution plumbing across Meta's apps

The sharing paths are spelled out and they cross app boundaries. You can post directly to the Vibes feed, DM to friends, or cross-post to Instagram and Facebook Stories and Reels.

That tap-through is the load-bearing link. It uses Instagram's existing reach to route users into the Meta AI app, where the creation tools live. The feed inside Vibes and the surfaces in Instagram and Facebook become funnels that point back to the same editor.

What's deliberately unspecified

The announcement names no model, no generation limits, no quality claims, and no availability regions. It calls Vibes an "early preview" and says Meta is "working on even more powerful creation tools and models" with visual artists and creators, to roll out later.

Meta also keeps the app's prior identity intact, noting it remains "your hub for managing AI glasses, capturing moments," and running the Meta AI assistant. Vibes is added on top, not a replacement.

The implication: the feed is the product surface, not the model

For teams building generative video, the takeaway from Vibes is where Meta invested first. It did not lead with model benchmarks; it led with a discovery-and-remix interface and cross-app distribution.

The bet is that adoption of generative media hinges on the frontend loop — see, remix, share — more than on raw generation quality at this stage. Meta shipped the loop as a preview and said explicitly it wants feedback to keep iterating. The models come later; the social surface came first.
